DPA/CSO/QSHE Superintendent for Tipco Maritime Company (1 Position)

Job Description :

DPA/CSO/QHSE Superintendent assists the DPA/CSO/QHSE Manager in coordinating and following up all actions contributing to the achievement of the Quality, Hygiene, Safety, Security and Environment program so that it fulfils the requirements of the Company, ISM code, ISPS Code, TMSA and all other relevant Codes or Regulations, and best practices related to QHSE matters. The role itself is fundamental to the safe operation of the fleet and incumbent will be the companys main focal point (alongside the QHSE Manager) for all things risk, safety and security related. Fair amount of travelling in SE Asia can be expected.

Job Duties / Responsibilities:
• Assist in implementation of the company’s SMS ashore and onboard vessels.
• Conduct internal audits and inspections for safe operations and ISM/ISPS Compliance.
• Follow up all safety related reports from the vessel to ensure effective and timely closure using Company Ship Management software ‘DNV-GL Shipmanager’
• Participate in development and progress monitoring of action plan for continuous improvement on TMSA assessment
• Optimize and enhance the usage of safety related modules in ‘DNV-GL Shipmanager’
• Gather all relevant and prepare for Head Office Safety Meetings and Management reviews.
• Participate in detailed incident investigations, root cause analysis and make appropriate recommendations.
• Briefing of seafarers in SMS and safety related matters.
• Monitor emergency preparedness and act as a member of the emergency response team.
• Organize safety campaigns for the fleet.
• Act as alternative DPA and CSO for the fleet.
• Assist in managing any other HSE matters in support of the business as assigned by Senior Management



Qualification :

• Class 1 or Class 2 Deck Officer certificate of competency with at least 2 years of experience sailing as a senior officer, preferably on tankers
• Must have a passion for risk management and a safety mindset
• Must have a good working knowledge of ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, MLC and ISPS Code.
• Candidates with the following training and qualifications will hold an advantage.
• Internal auditor for ISM & ISPS
• DPA and CSO
• Incident investigation
• Fluent English Proficiency, speaking, reading and writing (equivalent to IELTS Band 7.0 or TOEIC in excess of 650)
• Able to work independently and as a team
• Proficient in Microsoft applications
