Job purpose:

The Senior Officer – Internal Audit is expected to execute internal audit work using a risk-based internal audit process. This position is expected to exhibit good technical competency and demonstrate an ability to perform internal audit fieldwork with minimal supervision and re-work.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in following up on outstanding information requested in support of internal audit project planning; as well as reviewing such information for completeness, and to identify areas to focus on during internal audit reviews.
  • Leading or assisting in discussions to identify or refine the scope of work for internal audit projects.
  • Leading kick-off and closing meetings for internal audit reviews as necessary.
  • Execute internal audit fieldwork independently for assigned scope areas, and with supervision for scope areas of higher complexity.
  • Execute special assignments independently for assigned scope areas, and with supervision for scope areas of higher complexity.
  • Prepare clear working papers that facilitate independent reviews for all fieldwork performed, including drafting audit observations (to a report-ready standard) for assigned scope areas. Assist in drafting the full reports for all reviews performed.
  • Review evidence submitted by management for follow-up reviews; and retain these in a logical manner.
  • Assist in annual audit planning as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 – 5 years of relevant internal audit working experience and a good track record of professional achievements is desired.
  • Degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Management or other relevant qualifications.
  • Professional certifications (CIA/ CISA/ CPA or CPIAT as a minimum) have an advantage.
  • Candidates that possess (or are pursuing) professional qualifications (such as CIMA, ICAEW or ACCA) have a distinct advantage.
  • Knowledge of oil and gas or manufacturing industries is desirable.
  • Flexible, willing to travel up to 50% of the time (within Thailand and to overseas locations where the Company has business in).
