Construction Business, Tipco Asphalt Group, Conducts Training on “Airport Pavement Maintenance Engineering” for the Airport Maintenance Department, at Chiangmai International Airport-CNX, Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT)
On 21 May 2026, Construction Business, Tipco Asphalt Group, organized a special training session, “Airport Pavement Maintenance Engineering,” for the Airport and Building Division under the Airport Maintenance Department, Chiangmai International Airport-CNX. The event was honored and presided over the opening ceremony by the presence of Khun Wisut Khamyod, Deputy Director of Chiang Mai Airport (Operational Line), along with executives and engineering teams participating in the session.
Khun Jeerawat Pongpun, the Senior Manager – Commercial of Construction Business, shared knowledge and practical experience on the application of High-Performance Grade asphalt for airfield pavement construction and maintenance works, to ensure that engineers have the knowledge and understanding needed to select the appropriate asphalt binder grade for construction and maintenance applications. In addition, the Tipco Asphalt Group also explained the differences between the performance testing standards used in Performance Pavement Design, for example the ASTM T324 Hamburg Wheel Track Test and the EN 12697-22 Wheel Tracking Test, which are specified in airport project specifications. This enables engineers to gain a deeper understanding of the performance characteristics of the designed pavement works.
This training session not only served as a platform for exchanging experiences, discussing challenges, and strengthening the proper understanding of material selection and application, but also reflected Tipco Asphalt Group’s commitment to deliver asphalt technology, construction solutions, and maintenance innovations. The initiative aims to enhance knowledge across all sectors while improving the quality and safety of Airfield Pavement Design in compliance with the international civil aviation standards.
