Tipco Asphalt Congratulates the Winners of the CE CU–TIPCO Asphalt Mix Design Challenge 2025

Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, in collaboration with the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Chulalongkorn University, organized the CE CU–TIPCO Asphalt Mix Design Challenge 2025, a platform for young pavement design innovators to showcase their ideas. The competition was held as part of the Civil Engineering Materials course, with 15 teams of third-year students participating in scholarship awards.

The official announcement of the results took place on Friday, October 24, 2025, with representatives from Tipco Asphalt, led by _Khun Surapon Katekaew, Director of Technical Department, and Khun Sompun Leelapanyaporn, Senior Manager of Technical Intelligence, joining the ceremony. From Chulalongkorn University, the event was attended by Prof. Dr. Kasem Choocharukul, Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Boonchai Sangpetngam, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pitcha Jongvivatsakul, and Dr. Siwarak Unsiwilai, who together presided over the award ceremony and presented prizes to the winning teams.

This competition aimed to provide hands-on learning experiences for students to understand the principles of designing and testing Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA), emphasizing both strength and performance suitability. It simulated real-world challenges faced by pavement engineers while inspiring students to develop a deeper interest and understanding of asphalt technology.

Congratulations to Tipco Asphalt Group’s Head Office and plants for receiving the Zero Accident Awards 2025 from T-OSH.

On September 2, 2025, Tipco Asphalt Group’s Head Office has received the Zero Accident Award – Bronze Level from the Thailand Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (Public Organization) T-OSH — the public organization under supervision of Ministry of Labour. The Bronze level award is a result of accumulated man-hour of 1 million with zero lost time injury.

This year, there are a total of 599 Bronze-level Zero Accident awardees. The T-OHS categorized each level into upper and standard classes– winning both the award plague and certificate; and   Our HO’s is in the upper group of 237 entities that received both the award plague and certificate.  

This year, our asphalt production and distribution plants are also honored with Zero Accident awards for their outstanding safety records. Two factories received the Silver Award (for accumulating over 3 million man-hours of zero accident): Rayong and Suratthani plants. Another two factories received the Beginner Level Award (for accumulating less than 1 million man-hours of zero accident): Phra Pradaeng and Nakhon Ratchasima plants.

On September 17, 2025, Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, Surat Thani and Phra Pradaeng Plants received the Outstanding Award and Certificate of Honor in the transportation sector under the EIA Monitoring Awards 2025. The recognition was granted for the company’s exemplary compliance with environmental impact assessment (EIA) monitoring measures, under the theme “EIA Next Step: The Next Sustainable Growth”.

The EIA Monitoring Awards aim to honor and recognize organizations that demonstrate genuine and continuous commitment to implementing environmental protection measures. The program also seeks to inspire other businesses to follow these best practices. This year, a total of 18 transportation-related projects across the country received awards.

This achievement reflects Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited’s strong commitment to aligning its operations with international environmental standards, corporate social responsibility, and sustainable development principles. In particular, the company’s port operations – directly linked to marine transportation and logistics — have been carefully managed with a focus on preventive and mitigation measures to minimize environmental impacts at every steps.

On September 22, 2025, Tipco Asphalt Group, Nakhon Ratchasima and Surat Thani plants, received the Green Industry Award Level 5: Green Network (GI 5) presented by Dr. Nattapol Rangsitpol, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Industry in the asphalt business category. Both plants were among only 228 plants awarded GI 5 out of the 73,710 registered with the Department of Industrial Works nationwide.

  • Nakhon Ratchasima plant was among 4 plants out of 1,920 registered in Nakhon Ratchasima Province to receive the GI 5 award.
  • Surat Thani plant was among 5 plants out of 1,135 registered in Surat Thani Province to achieve this distinction.

The Green Industry Level 5: Green Network certification signifies a commitment to expanding green networks throughout the supply chain. The company encourages its partners, allies, and stakeholders to participate in the green industry certification process, contributing to a sustainable organization together.

By participating in this event, the plants have successfully reduced their environmental and community impact, built a green network, strengthened the supply chain, and established themselves as a green network within the organization. Additionally, this achievement has enhanced workplace safety, fostered employee well-being in a healthier environment, reduced resource and energy consumption, and bolstered the company’s image and stakeholder acceptance. It also increases our competitive edge, as the GI 5 logo can now be displayed on products packaging to communicate our commitment to consumers. Furthermore, this supports environmental development under the BCG model and Thailand’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On 4–5 September 2025, Tipco Asphalt, together with Nila Solutions, showcased “Paving Future Roads” at the International Symposium “Towards Holistic Roads and Beyond,” organized by the Department of Rural Roads with the Thailand Road Association in Bangkok.

On 4–5 September 2025, Tipco Asphalt, together with Nila Solutions, showcased “Paving Future Roads” at the International Symposium “Towards Holistic Roads and Beyond,” organized by the Department of Rural Roads with the Thailand Road Association in Bangkok.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Khun Chayatan Phromsorn, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport. The event was also attended by executives from the Ministry of Transport, the Department of Rural Roads, the Executive Board of Thailand Road Association, distinguished speakers, and honored guests.

At the booth, innovations for the future of sustainable roads were showcased, including:

  • Bio Binder: A green asphalt binder made from plant-based extracts, designed to reduce environmental impacts while maintaining excellent strength and durability for pavement surfaces.
  • Fibroseal: The latest innovation for rehabilitating deteriorating pavement, improving flexibility and durability, and preventing water infiltration. It is suitable for all road conditions, including expressways, elevated roads, bridges, and tunnels.
  • Nila Solutions: The specialist in road solutions and innovations, presenting their comprehensive digital platform that manages construction projects end-to-end. The platform covers project planning, progress tracking, and automated reporting, with real-time daily updates delivered via LINE Official Account, ensuring easy, accurate, and timely access to information.

The platform is available on a monthly subscription basis, with additional on-demand services to address specific project needs, such as:

  1. Stockpile volume measurement
  2. Cut-and-fill earthwork volume calculation
  3. Video updates on project progress
  4. Digital mapping of construction sites

Nila Solutions serves as a digital assistant, helping projects progress efficiently while managing costs effectively.

The international symposium “Towards Holistic Roads and Beyond” provided a valuable platform for exchanging knowledge and experiences in holistic transport infrastructure development. Experts, academics, and practitioners from various countries, including the United States, Italy, Denmark, Australia, and Japan, participated in discussions and workshops. The event also featured more than 28 exhibitions from government agencies, private organizations, and academic institutions, showcasing knowledge, research, and innovations in the field.

On July 23, 2025, Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, in collaboration with Flow Inter Supply Part., Ltd., organized a technical training session for Division of Public Works, Local Administrative Organization under “Road Maintenance Techniques Using Asphalt Products.” The event was held at Sukhothai Rural Roads Office, attended by over 80 participants, including technical officers, heads of engineering units, and engineers from various municipalities, Provincial Administrative Organizations (PAO), and Subdistrict Administrative Organizations (SAO) in Sukhothai Province.

Khun Nuttakit Somphet, Director of Sukhothai Provincial Highway Maintenance Division, who presided over the opening ceremony, honored the training session. The training featured both theoretical and hands-on components, covering best practices and standards in road surface maintenance using asphalt. Practical demonstrations included pothole repair using Tipco Premix, concrete joint sealing, and the application of Tipco Joint Sealer to address joint issues in the concrete pavement of the Sukhothai PAO parking area.

The key objective of this training was to enhance technical knowledge, facilitate experience-sharing among road maintenance professionals, and ensure proper understanding of road maintenance techniques. Ultimately, the program aims to improve road quality and safety while optimizing long-term maintenance budgets.

On June 20, 2025, a delegation from the Office of Transport and Traffic Policy and Planning (OTP), led by Mr. Chalermrat Techakasem, Head of Regional Transport and Traffic Strategy Group, along with 32 senior executives, Tipco Asphalt Group’s production facility at the Surat Thani Plant.

The visitors were warmly welcomed by Mr. Soranard Nantamontry, Deputy Chief Executive Officer – Thailand Business, Mr. Surapon Katekaew, Director – Technical Department, and Mr. Suphat Pipitawan, Director – Operations. The site tour featured a comprehensive presentation of the plant’s integrated operations, covering raw material import quality inspection, production, and regional distribution of asphalt products throughout southern Thailand.

The visit aimed to provide the OTP delegation with insights into the plant’s capabilities in delivering high-quality asphalt materials to support infrastructure development in the Southern Economic Corridor (SEC).

This visit underscores the importance of public-private collaboration in enhancing Thailand’s transport infrastructure and boosting the competitiveness of industries within the country’s special economic zones.
