On July 31, 2024, the Phra Pradaeng Plant installed bumper guards at the plant of Thongchai Charoen Construction Co., Ltd., Muang District, Nakhon Pathom Province. The area was narrow and lacked warning signals for hazards, which had led to accidents. The company enhanced safety at the customer’s plant by installing bumper guards to prevent and reduce accidents. This initiative also aimed to build strong relationships and listen to customer feedback, ensuring that the needs and expectations of stakeholders are met effectively. Additionally, it promoted the “Share More, Gain More” activity, which involved sharing information about hazardous and risky areas in the customer’s plant and along transportation routes to monitor potential risks. As a result of these efforts, the customer satisfaction level reached 98%.

On July 31, 2024, Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited organized a lecture on asphalt products and environmentally friendly asphalt concrete road construction technology for students of the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, and Department of Chemical Engineering. The lecture was opened by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kumpon Subsomboon, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and was attended by 91 students and faculty members.

In addition to learning about the academic aspects and innovative new asphalt construction materials, the afternoon session included a practical activity where students improved the entrance and sidewalks using TIPCO Premix asphalt, compliant with TIS 2916-2561 standards. This enhancement will facilitate future access and logistics for the building.

This event was conducted following the policy framework under MoU Clause 2.2, focusing on promoting and developing graduate production by supporting teaching, learning, and training in the use of materials between agencies. The aim is to develop expertise among personnel and produce graduates who are knowledgeable and capable of efficiently utilizing asphalt materials, thereby enhancing the nation’s sustainable development capabilities in the future.

On July 23, 2024, Associate Professor Boonchai Sangpetngam, Ph.D., a faculty member of the Department of Civil Engineering at Chulalongkorn University, and Mr. Kitti Phattanavasin, Senior Manager – Customer Experience Management, a representative from Tipco Asphalt Public Limited Company, presented the prototype research project “The Utilization of Recycled Asphalt Concrete for Production of Pre-Mixed Asphalt Using Waste Palm Oil as an Asphalt Rejuvenator Formula” at the innovation project competition under the theme “Net Zero Paving: Solutions for Users.” This event was part of the อว. FAIR: SCI POWER FOR FUTURE THAILAND held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, under Energy, Chemicals, and Biochemicals. The project was evaluated by the Program Management Unit for Competitiveness (PMUC). The collaborative research is set to span one year, with the aim of testing and designing the prototype product together.

On 17 July 2024, Tipco Asphalt Lao (TAL) has the achievement of 300,000 manhours without a lost time injury since September 2020. On this occasion, the team has gathered together to celebrate this success, with a focus on achieving the next goal of 400,000 safe working hours in the year 2026.

On July 25, 2024, the Surat Thani factory CSR team held a discussion with the Director of the Phowai Community Health Center, part of the Surat Thani Hospital network, to plan training for the Safety Road for All and CPR projects for the community and schools under the Phowai urban community district. They also shared 70 boxes of Andrographis paniculata extract capsules to distribute to people using the healthcare services, to be used as a common household remedy and to help boost immune health. This initiative is part of promoting good health and wellness for the community.

On July 3, 2024, Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, Phitsanulok plant, carried out a CSR activity under the project to promote and improve the quality of life for disadvantaged people, under the “Zero Waste” activity at the Special Education Center, Educational Region 7, Phitsanulok Province. This project aimed to promote effective waste management in schools as a way to reduce waste at the source, resulting in less waste to be disposed of, creating benefits and added value from waste management using the 3Rs principle. Additionally, it helped promote the creation of an environmentally friendly society. A total of 15 employees participated in the activity, which involved improving the waste segregation area, setting up a wet waste bin for food scraps, and more.

The Phitsanulok plant also supported by donating 12 wet waste bins, 2 general waste bins, 2 recycling bins, and 2 hazardous waste bins. This project is ongoing, with 50% progress completed.

Between July 10-11, the Surat Thani plant had the opportunity to welcome Mr. Bai Min Guang, Depot Production Manager, and Mr. Liang Da Ren, Production Deputy Manager, from Tipco Asphalt Xinhui Co., Ltd., one of the Tipco Asphalt Group companies in China. They visited the Surat Thani factory to observe and learn about various management practices, including the 5S activities, sea freight handling, storage, and the factory’s occupational health and safety management system.

Both guests expressed their gratitude and praised the supervisors and employees at the Surat Thani factory for their warm welcome, helpful guidance, and excellent knowledge sharing. They plan to apply and adapt the insights gained to improve operations at Tipco Asphalt in China.

The presentation covered all three dimensions: Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG). The event aimed to build positive relationships with external agencies and the local community. During the Open House, stakeholders participated in a tree planting activity in the factory’s green area, contributing to increasing green space, enhancing biodiversity, and creating a learning resource for the community in the future.

On July 2, 2024, Mr. Sanyalak Buasri, the Plant Manager, led a team of instructors and assistant teachers to conduct CPR and AED training in the TIPCO Hands 2 Heart: CPR for Life activity for students and faculty members from the Logistics and Supply Chain Management Department at Surat Thani Vocational College. Mr. Kittipong Buhloung, the Deputy Director of the College and Acting Director of Surat Thani Vocational College, warmly welcomed the participants. The purpose of this activity was to raise awareness and promote basic life-saving techniques, ensuring participants understand the correct methods of providing basic life support, which will increase the chances of helping family members or others in the community who may experience sudden cardiac arrest.
