Waste to Redeem Merit Project – Phra Pradaeng Factory
5 April 2023 | This initiative actively promotes continuous waste separation within the organization. It is achieved through two key projects: the Garbage Exchange Project and the Garbage Collection Project at BKK Pier 7A. These projects aim to significantly reduce the volume of waste ending up in the organization’s landfill. Additionally, they serve to enhance employee awareness regarding waste separation and encourage the practice of reusing waste to maximize its utility.
Aligned with the principles of the Mitigation Hierarchy, namely “Avoid,” “Minimize,” “Reuse,” and “Recycle,” the initiative involves careful sorting of waste, followed by its sale to antique shops. The generated income is then directed to the Foundation for Underprivileged Children. PET plastic waste is separately collected and delivered to Wat Chak Daeng, where it is repurposed to create recycled robes. Through these efforts, the initiative effectively contributes to a reduction of 3,265 kilograms of carbon dioxide equivalent in greenhouse gas emissions, documented from January 1, 2022, to December 31, 2022.
