The Phitsanulok plant promotes learning on the use of asphalt testing equipment for engineering students from Naresuan University
On February 17-18, 2025, Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, Phitsanulok Plant Branch, supported educational development by providing an opportunity for fourth-year students from the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Engineering, Naresuan University, to utilize standardized testing equipment and instruments at Testing Laboratory 1, Quality Control Department, Phitsanulok Plant. The students conducted tests on penetration and DSR of Asphalt Cement as part of their coursework in the Chemical Engineering Project subject.
During this session, the company’s quality control officers generously served as advisors, providing guidance and answering inquiries to assist the students throughout the testing process.
Surat Thani Plant, received the national award for “Healthy, Safe, and Happy Workplace
On December 20, 2024, Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, Surat Thani Plant, received the national award for “Healthy, Safe, and Happy Workplace” (Gold Shield category) for the year 2024 from the Ministry of Public Health. The award was presented by Dr. Direk Khampan, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health.
On January 29, 2025, the company also received a provincial award from the Surat Thani Provincial Public Health Office. The award was presented by Dr. Samniang Saengsawang, Deputy Provincial Public Health Doctor of Surat Thani.
This award highlights the company’s commitment to adhering to sustainable development policies, focusing on enhancing the overall quality of life for its employees. This includes promoting physical and mental well-being, as well as preventing various risk factors such as workplace accidents, chemical hazards, and machinery-related incidents. The company is dedicated to creating a safe working environment and fostering sustainable happiness in the workplace.

In line with this commitment, the company has organized QA&QC Internal Research Project Contest 2024 for the second consecutive year. The contest aims to foster a learning process, encourage innovation, enhance work efficiency, and provide employees with opportunities to showcase their potential, explore new concepts, and collaborate on process improvements. For the QA&QC Projects Contest 2024, a total of 14 projects were submitted, categorized into three main areas:

Winner: Joint Primer Eco Formula** Development and identification of new chemical materials that reduce costs by 30% while maintaining product quality and performance. Researcher: Supattra Yodsungnoen (Nakhon Ratchasima Plant)
1st Runner-up: Alternative Chemical for CRS-2 Product** Optimization of existing chemical stock for use in CRS-2 emulsion product formulation, helping to minimize unused raw material inventory. Researcher: Maithee Banjong (Nakhon Ratchasima Plant)
2nd Runner-up: Reduce Testing Time of SAYBOLT Viscosity at 25°C During Production Implementation of a correlation equation between viscosity values at 25° and sample temperature, leading to a 70% reduction in viscosity testing time during production. Researcher: Adisorn Pitisuk (Surat Thani Plant)
Honorable Mention: Reduce Inspection Loss of %CaCl2 Incoming Testing Development of a new method using density measurement to assess calcium chloride concentration, reducing testing time by 90%. Researcher: Suppachai Somkhaoyai (Surat Thani Plant)
Honorable Mention: Alternative Solvent for CRS-2 and CSS-1 Product Development of an alternative solvent for CRS-2 and CSS-1 asphalt emulsion products, offering a solution to mitigate fluctuations in raw material costs. Researcher: Chatklao Kaewwichien (Nakhon Ratchasima Plant)

Hands 2 Heart: CPR for Life – Training by Rayong, Phra Pradaeng, and Surat Thani Plants”
On January 14-15, 2025, Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, along with its Rayong, Phra Pradaeng, and Surat Thani plants, collaborated with CPR Instructors to share and impart knowledge on basic life support for individuals experiencing respiratory arrest.
The training included hands-on practice in CPR, the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and techniques for clearing airway obstructions. The sessions were conducted for Grade 4-6 and Grade 8 students from Nikom Sang Ton Eng Rayong 4 School in Rayong Province. A total of four training sessions were held, with 312 participants taking part in the activities.
MOU Signed Between Tipco Asphalt and KMITL to Foster Sustainable Road Construction in Thailand
On January 15, 2025, Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, led by Mr. Soranat Nantamontri (Deputy Managing Director – Thailand Business Unit) and Mr. Surapol Ketkaew (Technical Director), joined hands with the Faculty of Engineering, King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang, represented by Associate Professor Dr. Somyot Kiattiwanichwilai (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering) and Professor Dr. Uma Sibunruang (Head of the Department of Civil Engineering), to sign an academic cooperation agreement at the Engineering Innovation Development and Technology Service Center (EIDTs).
The collaboration aims to foster academic cooperation and facilitate various research studies to benefit both parties. Initiatives under this partnership include guest lectures by company experts for the university, support for construction site visits and laboratory testing, internships, and research projects for students focusing on developing construction systems and asphalt concrete products. These efforts seek to sustainably elevate excellence in academics, technology, industry, and the country’s road network.
Fourth-year medical students from Naresuan University visited Phitsanulok factory for a study tour on occupational health and safety
On January 8, 2025, a group of 11 fourth-year medical students from the Faculty of Medicine, Naresuan University, Clinical Medical Education Center, Phitsanulok Hospital, along with 5 instructors, participated in a field study on “Practical Learning in Occupational Health and Safety of Workers at Tipco Asphalt Public Company Limited, Phitsanulok Plant.” This activity is part of the Community Medicine and Occupational Health course.
The objective was to explore potential hazards and assess risks, as well as propose improvement measures for the Phitsanulok factory to enhance the effectiveness of the factory’s occupational health practices.
